New add-on available for InspectionXpert®

InspectionXpert, the popular inspection report automation tool, has added even more capabilities to help streamline your inspection documentation.  MeasurementsXpert is a new add-on for InspectionXpert that provides a way to enter measured values directly into your inspection project.

InspectionXpert already automates the creation of a ballooned inspection drawing and report. With MeasurementsXpert, users can now enter values for multiple parts directly in the InspectionXpert interface. As measured values are added for each dimension in a part, MeasurementsXpert shades the dimensions on the drawing in red, green or yellow—to show if the dimension is in or out of tolerance.

“Users receive a visual indication, both on the drawing itself and on the measurements, of whether or not the measurements are within tolerance,” says Jeff Cope, president of Extensible CAD Technologies, “This will be a critical tool in the inspector’s quality toolbox to ensure that parts are within tolerance and to report on any deviations.”

Users can add values for as many measured parts as they want, and can publish to a ballooned PDF or even show the highlighted dimensions on their drawing. The inspection report automatically expands to show the values for all the parts that have been measured, and reports can easily be customized to meet each user’s needs.

Another benefit is that digital inspection tools (calipers, micrometers, indicators, etc.) with electronic output capability can be used with MeasurementsXpert to further automate inspections.  Connect digital instrument to your computer using a compatible USB cable. When measurements are taken, the values can be passed directly with the touch of a data button into MeasurementsXpert, to eliminate manual input of the measured result by typing it onto the report.

The MeasurementsXpert add-on is available for both InspectionXpert for PDF and InspectionXpert OnDemand. InspectionXpert is used by companies across the world including General Dynamics, NASA, Symmetry Medical, Schlumberger, Goodrich, Abbot Labs and many more.
