The use of marked sets allows the programmer great flexibility in creating parametric programs that can be used for parts at different stages in the production cycle. As an example, a program can be created that will measure a part after the first machining operation, only the second machining operation, or measure the part as a completed part ready for shipment to the customer. Printing the reports through marked sets is not a well documented process and can be confusing at the very least. This article will attempt to shed some light on the process by describing how to insert a print command into the program, print a hard copy and create an electronic copy of the report. 1. With MARKED SETS closed, go to FILE|PRINTING|REPORT WINDOW PRINT SETUP…
2. Click the check boxes for PRINTER and FILE…
5. Go to VIEW|OTHER WINDOWS and choose MARKED SETS…
6. Go back to FILE|PRINTING|REPORT WINDOW PRINT SETUP. At this point, take note that another check box is enabled called USE GLOBAL PRINT SETTINGS.
8. Step 2 browse to where the pdf’s will be sent. 9. Step 3 click the check box PRINTER…
13. Open the MARKED SETS window. Choose the marked set that needs editing. While the marked set is highlighted, mark the PRINT COMMAND in the edit window…
It is very important to understand that each of the PRINT OPTIONS windows that have been used in the article are separate and distinct windows that operate independently of each other. EXAMPLE OF EACH TYPE OF PRINT OPTIONS WINDOW
